Smith were brought to Ionia this morning from Greenville, for interment, in charge of William Matlock, a good friend of deceased. Mr. Smith was a conductor of the old D., L. & N., and is remembered by many in Ionia in that capacity. Later he was the engineer at the Novelty Mills. After quitting this employment he moved to Greenville, where he was a resident fifteen years and up to the time of his death. He twice married, but leaves no family. He was aged 69 years. Funeral was this afternoon, from the home of his brother, Thos. E. Smith, South Ionia, and interment was in Oak Hill.
