Smith, lifelong resident of Sebewa, who died at his home in Sebewa township Wednesday morning following an illness of several days, were held Friday afternoon from the Sebewa Center Methodist church at 3 o’clock, with Rev. H.B. Taylor of Grand Rapids, officiating. Music was rendered by Mrs. H.B. Taylor, of Grand Rapids, and bearers were Frank Cassel, Ernest York, Harry York, Joel Ralston, Glenn Olry and Louis Steel. Interment was at the family lot at East Sebewa cemetery. Besides the many friends and relatives from away attending the services were Mrs. George Snyder, Miss Edna Sears and Mr. and Mrs. W.L. DuBoss and family, of Grand Ledge; Howard Steele and son, of Kalamazoo; Mr. and Mrs. Levi Steele and family, of Freeport; Albert Warnhoff, of Ann Arbor; Mr. and Mrs. Mark R. Westbrook, Mr. and Mrs. George Petrie, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Root, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stevens and daughter, Mrs. Amy Morrison and Mrs. Sherry Rheuland, Ionia township. He was born in Sebewa township August 8, 1864, the son of Luman C. and Jennette Allen Smith, and was married February 17, 1892, to Miss Louisa Sindlinger, of Lake Odessa. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church. Surviving are his wife; four sons, Clyde, of Madison, Wis.; Clifton, of Grand Rapids, Glenn and Burton, of Sebewa township; a foster daughter, Violet, at home; two grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. George W.
