William H. Smith, 72, of Adams street, died at 1:20 a.m. Saturday at the Ionia
County Memorial hospital as the result of a heart attack after a two days’
illness.  He was born September 27, 1871, in Gratiot township and had lived in
Ionia for the past 30 years.

His wife preceded him in death in 1937.  Surviving him is a daughter, Mrs. Emery
Hayes, of Ionia; a son, Willian Henry Smith, jr., of Texas; six grandchildren
and four great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the I.H.A.
Mission.  Rev. John Youngs will officiate and burial will be in Oak Hill
cemetery.  The body will repose at the Myers funeral home until one-half hour
before funeral services when it will be taken to the church to repose until time
for service.
