Sentinel Standard - 8 March 1948
Carrie A. Smith of Grand Ledge, formerly of Ionia, died Saturday, March 6, at 
the home of her son Frank R. Smith with whom she lived.  She was 83 years of 
age.

She was born July 14, 1864, in Ronald township, the daughter of Andrew J. and 
Caroline B. Lansing.  She lived most of her life in and near Ionia, moving near 
Grand Ledge in 1940.  She was married to John H. Smith October 13, 1892 who 
preceded her in death May 15, 1941.

Surviving are two sons, Frank R. Smith of Grand Ledge and Claud M. Snell, and 
eight grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at the Mapes funeral home in Sunfield March 10 at 
2:00 pm with the rev. Howard Johnson officiating.  Interment will be in Higbee 
cemetery in Ionia county.
