EVA MAY SMITH
Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Eva May Smith of Grand Ledge 
passed away June 14, 2009.

She was born Aug. 26, 1930 in Belding to the late Morris and Elizabeth (King)
Powell. Loving wife of the late Charles "Chuck" who passed away Dec. 21, 2004. Eva retired
from the Quality Farm Fleet store and worked many years at Lansing General Hospital as a
nurse's aide.

Eva was preceded in death by her daughter, Evelyn Marie Aldrich; siblings, Helen
Hankis, Mary Case, Arvilla Foote, Jane Sorenson and Morris Powell.

She is survived by her son, Timothy (Lynn) Smith of Grand Ledge; grandchildren,
Brent (Diane) Smith of Portland, Ryan Smith of Lansing, Stacie (Paul Godin) Smith of
Lansing, Jennifer (Yamil Rivera) Aldrich of San Juan, Darcie (Keith) Young of Lansing;
great-grandsons, Ethan, Trevor and Peyton Smith, Khalil, and Kaden Young; brothers, Lester
(Sally) Powell and Darwin (Judy) Powell of Belding; brother-in-law, George Foote and
Dick Sorenson of Greenville; siser-in-law, Mabel Gender of Lansing and Hazel Hansen of 
Greenville.

A funeral service was held June 18 at the Holihan-Atkin funeral Home, Grand Ledge
with Pastor Larry Schrauger of the Oneida Gospel Church, officiating. A private inurnment
will take place at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens at a later date.
