She was born March 1, 1928, in Keene Township, the daughter of Glen D. and Ethel (Compton) Weeks. June married Robert L. Smith on march 19, 1948. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob, her daughter Sherry Smith-Noble, sisters Chrystal Taylor, Alberta Allen, Gladys McLeod, and brother Ron Weeks. Surviving June are her children Rebecca (Jack) Hoffman and Kim (Patricia) Smith of Grand Rapids, and son-in-law David Noble of Howell; grandchildren Elizabeth (Charlie) Ransford, Michael Tuffelmire, Nathan (Esther) Smith, Noah Smith, and Zac (Carly) Noble; great-grandchildren Michael, Scott, Eleanor, Alice, and Hugo; sisters Beatrice (Fred) Bowen of Saranac, Joy Raimer of Saranac, and sisters-in-law Shirley Weeks of Saranac and Rhoda Smith of Lansing, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. June was a rock to her family. She was a much beloved daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and aunt to a large extended clan. Her 58-year marriage to Bob was an equal partnership characterized by hare work, unwavering commitment, and lot and lots of laughter-it's hard to imagine one without the other. In retirement, Bob and June traveled widely and showered their grandchildren with time, attention, and valuable life lessons that they carry with them every day. June was a kind and loving person who always had a positive thing to say about other people. She will be remembered for her practical outlook, ready sense of humor, and deep devotion to family, which live on through her descendants. A celebration of June's life will be held 1-4 p.m Sunday, July 29, 2018, at the Boston township Hall, 30 North Center Street in Saranac. memorial contributions may be made to the Boston Historical Society.
