Sentinel-Std. - Monday, July 16, 1979

GREENVILLE - Peggy O. Smith, 31, Greenville, was killed Sunday night in a 
car accident on Haynor Road.

She was born May 24, 1948 in Ionia, the daughter of Rayburn and Bernita 
Higbee Mason.

She attended Ionia schools and graduated from Ionia high School in 1966.

On Sept. 10, 1966, she was married to David Smith. The two made their home 
in Greenville for most of their married life.

For the past five years, Mrs. Smith was employed as a teacher's assistant in 
the Greenville school system. 

Survivors include her father, Rayburn of New Mexico, her mother, Mrs. Hubert 
(Bernita) Mooney of Belding; a son, David Jr., at home; a daughter, 
Charmaine, also of home; three brothers, Glendon of Ionia, Stanley of 
Lansing and Daniel of Sheridan; and one sister, Mrs. Ralph (Sandy) Snyder of 
Belding.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Leddick 
Funeral Home in Ionia with the Rev. Sam W. Morrison, of St. Paul's Episcopal 
Church of Greenville officiating.

A memorial fund has been established for the Head Start program. 
Contributions may be left at the funeral home.

Visitation at the funeral home will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 
p.m.
