Ionia Sentinel Standard-April, 7, 1966

H. DUDLEY SMITH
A practicing Osteopathic physician at Alto the past 29 years died 
unexpectedly Thursday morning at Lido Beach, Fla.

He was born in Ionia September 12, 1902, the son of Walter T. and Josephine 
Smith. He graduated from Ionia High School in 1922, attended Grand Rapids 
Junior college, North Western university, and graduated from Des Moines Still 
College. He interned two years in American hospital in Chicago.

Dr. Smith was a member of Ionia Elks lodge, Lowell Moose lodge, Bowne 
township health officer and was physician for C & O Railroad.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Kimble Smith; one daughter Mrs. Richard 
LeValley of Ionia, and two grandchildren; one brother, Max Smith of Lowell, 
and several nieces and nephews.

The body will be at Roth funeral home in Lowell Saturday where service will 
be Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Beulah Poe of Alto Methodist Church 
officiating.

Burial will be at Bowne Center cemetery.
