Margaret E. (Turner) Smith, 88, of Grand Rapids, formerly of Battle Creek and 
Lake Odessa, went home to be with her Lord on Friday afternoon, May 16, 2003.  
She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Margaret will be deeply missed by her children, Brad (Sharon) Smith and Judy 
(Paul) Sare; grandchildren, Leslie Santomauro, Paul L. Sare, Tracey L. Reed 
and Matthew L. Smith; great grandchildren, Austin Reed, Alex Reed, Brandon 
Santomauro, Brook Santomauro, Seth Sare and Katelin Sare; sister-in-law, 
Eloise Lathrop; brother-in-law, Ray Smith; and many other loving relatives and 
friends.  She was preceded in death by Lawson K. Smith, her loving husband of 
60 years; and her son Stuart.

Visitation was held Monday at the Koops Funeral Chapel in Lake Odessa and 
again for one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday.  Funeral services are 
2 p.m. Tuesday at Koops Funeral Chapel with her pastor, Dr. Donald R. Ferris 
of the Central United Methodist Church officiating.  Burial will be in 
Lakeside Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Michigan.
