Dorothy I. Smith of Lake Odessa
Died Wednesday September 6, 2000-age 92
Born June 13, 1908 at Woodland township, Ionia County, Michigan 
Daughter of Joseph & Susanna (Minkus) Statsick.
Married Kenneth Smith March 9, 1929 in Angola, Indiana.
Dorothy helped her husband on the farm, while raising her children.
Accomplished quilt maker, and known for her cherry pies.
Preceded in death by husband, Kenneth, her brother and two sisters.
Survived by her children, Gerald L. Smith of FL, Joyce Brinningstaull of Lake 
Odessa, Nancy (Robert) Hershberger of Lake Odessa, Larry D. (Eadie) Smith of AL, 
and Sherry (Harry) Bowman of Hasting's; eight grandchildren; seven great-
grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation Friday, Sept. 8, 2000 from 4 to 8 PM at Koops Funeral Chapel.
Funeral Service Saturday at 3:30 PM in Lakeside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Lakewood Community Ambulance or 
Scholarship Fund at the Lakewood VFW.
