June 20, 1919 HANNAH C. SMITH Hannah Catherine Smith, nee Schuler, was born in Woodland township, Barry county, Mich.,Dec. 19, 1862, and did at her home near Woodland, Mich., June 11, 1919, aged 56 years and 2 days. Her girlhood days were spent at home with her parents. She was united in marriage with Daniel Smith, Jan. 24, 1889. Her married life was a happy one, she sharing gladly the joys and sorrows of the home. Her entire married life was spent at her home south of Woodbury. At the age of 13 she surrendered her heart and life to God, being converted under the labors of the Rev. C. Ude. At the same time she united with the Woodland Evangelical church of which she remained a faithful member until the end. Mrs Smith was a faithful Christian and a loyal work in the church. As long as she was able, she gladly did all she could in order to promote the cause of Christ. Her faith in the Savior never wavered-though in the midst of intense suffering, she always expressed a firm trust in Christ. For over two years, mrs Smith has been a great sufferer. During the time she was on her bed almost continually, being able to be up only a few times. Though she feared not death, yet her hope was to recover, so that she could minister to the needs of her household. This hope she retained to the end. But finally she heard the call of the Master, calling her from labor to reward, and she answered the summons. Mrs. Smith was a true and faithful wife and a loyal neighbor and friend. She leaves to mourn her departure, her now sorrowing companion; one brother, S.C. Schuler; two sisters, Mrs Fred Wagner and Miss Julia Schuler, besides a host of relatives and friends. Her sufferings have ended-she is at rest with God. The funeral was held at the home Friday afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Rev. H. Stressman. The body was laid to rest in Lakeside cemetery. CARD OF THANKS We wish to thank the many friends and neighbors for their kindness shown toward us during the sickness and death of our beloved companion and sister. We also wish to express our appreciation for the many beautiful floral offerings. Dan Smith, Mrs Fred Wagner, Julia Schuler, S.C.Schuler.
