Lake Odessa Wave - August 25, 1955
     LEONARD J. SMITH DIED SATURDAY
   Leonard J. Smith, 62, passed away Saturday evening at St. Marys hospital, Grand
Rapids, from injuries 
received in a two truck accident last Monday afternoon at the intersection of Sixth
Avenue and M-50.  a pick 
up tuck driven by Robert Schultz of Grand Ledge was involved in the accident.  
   Mr. Smith was given first aid at the local doctors office before being taken to
Pennock hospital and later that 
night to Grand Rapids where he underwent surgery.
   A native of Charlotte, he had been a resident of Lansing for 37 years and was an
employee of the Fisher 
Body Corporation for many years before moving to Eagle Point in 1947 where he had
operated an upholstery 
business since then.
   Surviving are his wife, Edna M; a half sister, Mrs. josephine Andrews of Jackson,
four brothers, William of 
Lansing. Lawrence and George of Charlotte and Irvin of Mason.
   Funeral services were held Tuesday at 2 at the Pickens funeral chapel with burial
in Lakeside cemetery, Lake 
Odessa.
