Lake Odessa Wave-Thursday August 5, 1954

ZELMA SMITH DIED TUESDAY
Mrs.Zelma V. Smith, 51, passed away unexpectedly at her home at 774 Jordan Lake 
Ave. about noon Tuesday after a long period of ill health.

She was a retired school teacher and had taught school in Eaton and Barry count 
and had moved here 4 years ago from Nashville.

Mrs. Smith was a member of the local Order of Eastern Star chapter and Rebekah 
Lodge.

Surviving are her husband Harold, one son Wendell of Hastings, her mother 
Mrs.Sarah (Hastings) Downing and one sister Mrs.Wayne Grant.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 2  at the Mapes Funeral Home with burial 
in Lakeside Cemetery.
