Last Rites for Harold L. Smith

Harold L. Smith, 70, rural Lake Odessa, passed away suddenly at his home at 9331 
East Brown Rd. Tuesday following a short illness.

He was born July 7, 1900, in Barry County, son of John and Louisa (Garlinger) 
Smith, a short distance from where he resided and was a lifelong resident of the 
area.

Mr. Smith graduated from the Woodland High School with the class of 1917 and 
married Martha V. Hynes, April 7, 1928.

A school bus driver for many years, he was a member of the Farm Bureau and the 
Lakewood United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. LaVerne (Joanne) Jackson of Lake 
Odessa; one grandson, Vernon, and a sitter, Mrs. Laura Statsick of Lake Odessa.

Mr. Smith reposes at the Pickens Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa where funeral 
services will be held Friday at 1:30.

Rev. George Spears and Rev. Wilbur Williams will officiate with burial in 
Woodland Memorial park.
