Owen B. Smith, Dies Unexpectedly

Owen B. Smith, 84, prominent retired farmer, route one, Woodland, passed away 
unexpectedly Sunday forenoon at Pennock hospital, about twenty-four hours after 
admittance. His parents were Rev. John M. And Ella Smith and he was a lifelong 
resident of Barry County. He married Ethyle Katherman, December 23, 1908 at 
Bradford, Ohio, and they had lived their entire married life on the same farm.

Mr. Smith was a life member of the South Woodland Church of the Brethren.

Surviving are his wife, Ethyle, 1 daughter, Mrs. Ferris (Elouise) Lathrop of 
Lake Odessa; three sons, John J. of Jackson, Lawson K. of Lake Odessa nd Raymond 
K. of Houston, Texas; ten grandchildren; three great grand children and two 
nephews.

Mr. Smith reposes at Pickens Funeral Chapel, Lake Odessa, where funeral services 
will be held Tuesday at 2:30 with burial in the Woodland Memorial cemetery. Rev. 
Harley Townsend of Nashville and Rev. Charles Gibbs will officiate.
