Lake Odessa Wave-Times September 17, 1936

MRS. FRED SMITH DIED TUESDAY AFTERNOON
Leaves Husband and daughter. Funeral at Congregational Church Thursday 
Afternoon.

After several years of poor health including strokes of paralysis Mrs Fred Smith 
who was before her marriage Miss Inez Roosa, passed away after a long struggle 
to regain her health.

Mrs.Smith has lived in Lake Odessa since childhood. She attended school here and 
as she grew older entered into the community life. She was a faithful member of 
the Rebekah lodge and of the Congregational church.

She leaves a faithful husband and an adopted daughter Charlene who was the 
daughter of her deceased sister MrsGertrude Monasmith.

She leaves a sister Mrs Grace Cripe and a brother Ernest, both of Indiana.

The funeral was held at the Congregational church Thursday afternoon, Rev. E H 
Humphrey officiating.

The Rebekahs of a county gathering attending as honorary escort.

Burial was at Lakeside cemetery.
