SMITH, ASAPH CLEMENDON IV:
   SENTINEL-STANDARD, Ionia, MI:
1) 11-12-1987:  "Area obituaries - ASAPH C. SMITH - IONIA - Asaph C. Smith, 63,
of Orleans died Tuesday at Ionia County Memorial Hospital.
   The son of Vernie and Lillian Zimmerman Smith, he was born May 17, 1924, in
Ionia.  He was graduated from Ionia High School and had been employed at R. J.
Towers Corp. for the last nine years.
   He was married to Eleanor Fette on May 7, 1947.
   He attended Shiloh Community Church.
   Surviving are his wife Eleanor, three sons, Vernie and Harry, both of
Tennessee, and Kenneth of Orleans; five grandchildren; three brothers, Gerald
Smith of Belding, Alden Smith of Ionia and Wayne Smith of Ionia; and a sister
Mrs. Hershel (Maxine) Lake of Florida.
   Complete funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from Shiloh
Community Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.
   Burial will be in Woodard Lake Cemetery.
   The family will be at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Thursday at Rich Street Chapel of Cook Funeral Home."

2) 11-14-1987:  "IONIA - Funeral services for Asaph C. Smith of Orleans were
held Friday from Shiloh Community Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Harger officiating.
   Beverly Harger was the organist.
   Burial was in Woodard Lake Cemetery.
   A lunch was served for family and friends at Shiloh Community Church."
