SMITH, GIDEON WARNER:
   IONIA SENTINEL STANDARD, MI, 11-11-1938, p 2:  "Warner G. Smith, 69, died at
his farm home near Ionia Friday morning, November 11, at 4:45 after an illness
of some time.
   He was born in Ionia township April 20, 1869 and had lived in the home where
he died 29 years.  He was employed at Ypsilanti Reed Furniture Company 27 years,
a member of the Lutheran Church in Woodland.
   Surviving are the widow Emma, 7 daughters Mrs. Howard Cope, Mrs. Clarence
Linderman, Mrs. John Scholtens, of Ionia, Mrs. Otis Chapin of Stanton, Ethel,
Illene and Thelma at home, a son Ray, at home, three sisters Mrs. Orin Greene of
Saranac, Mrs. Nettie Hunt of Benton Harbor, Mrs. George Robinson of Lake Odessa,
8 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews."

   SARANAC ADVERTISER, MI, 11-16-1938:  "Veteran employe at Ionia factory dies -
Warner G. Smith, 69, an employee of Ypsilanti Furniture factory, Ionia for 27
years, died Friday at his Ionia township home.
   Services are at Myers funeral home.
   Survivors are the widow, Emma, 7 daughters, 1 son, Ray, 3 sisters Mrs. Orin
Green of Saranac, Mrs. Nettie Hunt of Benton Harbor, and Mrs. George Robinson of
Lake Odessa."
