RITES HELD MONDAY FOR ELLA S.SMITH

Mrs. Ella S.Smith, 55, passed away Friday morning at Butterworth hospital, Grand 
Rapids. She has been a resident here since 1919 and was a teacher in the local 
school for two year. A graduate of Ypsilanti State Teachers College in 1918, she 
taught at Shelby a year before coming here.

Mrs.Smith, the former Ella Schneider was born August 30, 1896 at Saranac. She 
was a member of the Congregational Church Woman's Fellowship and Order of 
Eastern Star lodge.

Surviving are the  husband Raymond C, two sons Raymond C, Jr. of Greenville, 
Charles Bruce, a student at Michigan State college and several aunts and uncles.

Mrs. Smith reposed at the Pickens Funeral Chapel until Monday noon, then taken 
to the Congregational Church where services were held at 2 p.m. with burial in 
Lakeside cemetery, Rev A.J. Pitman officiated.
