Ionia Sentinel-Standard
Mrs. Leila M. Smith, 89, of 4926 Peck Lake Road, died Monday at the home of her 
daughter, Catherine Kelly.  She was born June 26, 1891, in Jackson, Mich., the 
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Burtless.  Survivors include four daughters, 
Kelly, Mrs. Noran Rogers and Mrs. Nancy (Frank) White, all of Portland, and Mrs. 
Mary (Leslie) Hard of Lansing; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Viola Smith of Ann Arbor; 
one nephew, Gordon Smith; ….(several word not legible)……. great-great-
grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday at the Neller Funeral Home in 
Portland with the Rev. Dow Chamberlain of Portland United Methodist Church 
officiating.  Burial will be in Danby Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Walter and 
John Rogers, Frank J. and David White, Robert LeFever and Larry Pryer.
