Lake Odessa Times -- November 14, 1907
           MRS. C. W. SMITH

   Myrtle Belle Stair was a daughter of Mrs. Caroline Stair and was born in Carlton
township March 10, 1874.  
She died at her home in this village last week Wednesday after a short illness from
dropey and enlargement of 
the heart.

   She was married in 1897 to C. W. Smith and to them were born three boys and two
daughters, the oldest of 
which is now nine years and the youngest three months.  One of the boys died last
April, leaving four who 
survive to be deprived of the loving care of  mother.  Deceased also leaves a
mother, four brothers --John, Ed 
and Arthur of this vicinity and William of Dryden, N. Y., and one sister, Mrs.
Minnie Church of Clarksville.

   The funeral was held from the M. E. church Sunday, Rev. Townsend of Woodland
officiating, the remains 
being laid to rest in Lakeside cemetery.

   The husband and four young children have the deep sympathy of the community in a
loss that means so 
much to them.
