                                Thomas Smith, Sr.

Thomas Smith Sr. aged 69, of Lowell and a lifelong Democrat, passed away 
unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 28, 2008.

Tom grew up between Lowell and Saranac and graduated from Saranac High School. 
He then served in the United States Army and eventually, he worked for and 
retired from the United States Postal Service.

He is survived by his children, Thomas (Eriko) Smith, William (Cindy) Smith; 
grandchildren, Jason, Shaun, Colin, Jenna and Julie; siblings, Elizabeth Story, 
Jack (Betty) Smith, Nancy Thornton, Jay (Zeta) Judy (Doug) Eddy, Jay (Rose) 
Smith and Sharon Nead; many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and 
many dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Oleta May (Brandenberg) Smith 
and baby sister, Dianna Lee Smith.

A celebration of Tom's life will be held, Saturday, may 31 at 5:30 pm. at Roth-
Gerst funeral Home, 305 N.Hudson St.. Rev.Phil Struckmeyer, from Impact a 
Wesleyan Church, officiating. Family will meet with friends and relatives 4:30-
5:30 prior to service. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to 
American Cancer Society or American Heart Disease. Condolences may be sent to;
