                                 GLEN D. SMITH

Glen D.Smith, 85, of Ionia, died Sunday morning May 25, 2008 at home.

Glen was born on Oct.4, 1922 in Sunfield Township, the son of Glen M.and Ethel 
Steward Smith. He graduated from Ionia High School with the class of 1940 and 
alter served in the US Army during World War II. Glen was a member of St.John 
Lutheran Church and the DAV. In earlier years he owned the Sunoco Gas Station in 
Ionia.He enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and loved to spend time with family and 
friends at their cottage at Long Lake.Glen will be greatly missed by his family 
and friends.

He was married on May 19,1945 in ionia to Alice Smith and she survives along 
with their children; Carolyn (Stanwood) Krycinski, Marilyn (Michael) Harp all of 
Ionia and Dave (Marlene) Smith of Perry. Glen is also survived by his 
grandchildren, Jill (Brian) Deurloo of Howell, Angela (Griff) Lamphere of 
Ionia,;his great-grandchildren, Cody Deurloo, Molly Duerloo, Katelyn Lamphere 
and his sisters, Arloa Kurosky of Warsaw,Ind. and Dorothy (Richard) Roth of 
Ionia. Glen was preceded by his parents.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at St.John Lutheran Church in ionia 
with Pastor David Bogda officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday in Balcom 
Cemetery.Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-7 pm at St.Johns Lutheran Church. 
Memorials may be given to the wishes of the family. Evelopes will be available a 
the Church. Care and service were entrusted to Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, 
Belding. Condolences may also be give to the Smith Family at the Web site of the
