Ionia Daily Sentinel-Standard, 7 May 1951

Miss Amelia Smith, 87, of 404 Lafayette street died at the Eckert Nursing home 
Sunday at 1:30 a.m. after being a patient there for about a week.

She was born May 9, 1863, in Woodland, the last of eight children.  She was a 
member of the Presbyterian church.  Miss Smith had been a resident of Ionia for 
the past 70 years.

Funeral services will be held at the Myers funeral home Wednesday at 1 p.m.  
The Rev. George L. Rentschler will officiate.  Interment will be in Woodland 
cemetery.  Her funeral services will be held on her 88 birthday.
