Portland Review - Sunday, July 18, 2004

Bernard L. Smith, 64, of Portland passed away July 12, 2004.

He was born in Portland Nov. 18, 1939, the son of Cyril and Antoinette (Bohr) Smith.

Mr. Smith graduated from St. Patrick's in 1958, served in the U.S. Navy and was a 
member of the American Legion Post #129 in Portland.

Bernard retired from MDOT-Photo Lab in 1997 and enjoyed woodworking and photography.


He was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph, James, and David "Cork" Smith.

Surviving are his son, Craig (Ginger Reed) Smith of Portland; granddaughter, Lindsay

Wilcox; sisters, Catherine (Ray) Chartrand of Portland, Mary Lou Fox of Portland, 
and Marilyn (Robert) Eliser of Florida;  many nieces and nephews.

Services were held July 16 at Schrauben-Lehman Funeral Home with Fr. Larry King, 
Pastor, St. Patrick Catholic Church presiding. Military graveside honors were 
provided by the VFW Post #4090 at Portland Cemetery.
