Sentinel-Standard - Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1942

Funeral services for Leo J. Smith, 45, who died Friday evening at his home at 319 
Harter street after a year's illness at the Boynton funeral chapel on Rich street. 
Rev. F. G. Dunbar of the First Methodist church officiated and members of the Ionia

Lodge No. 36, F&AM conducted  the graveside services. Mrs. Ford McVeigh and Ms. 
Clare Wilcox were in charge of floral arrangements.

Honorary pallbearers were members of the Knights Templar No. 11. Active bearers were

William Morey, Clare Wilcox, Harry Warnes, William McElroy, W. W. Krainbrink and 
Ford McVeigh. Burial was at the Highland Park cemetery.

Those who attended from out of town were Mrs. Bertha Blanck, Lansing, Mr & Mrs. Lyle

Dunn, Joan Dunn, Lloyd Dunn of St. Johns; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Davenport, Phyllis and

Walter, Grand Blanc; Mr. and Mrs. John Shoal, Charles Whitney and Charles Munger of

Portland; Mr and Mrs. Frank Smith, Mrs. Carrie Smith, Grand Ledge; Mrs. Will Smith,

Mrs. Alex Mutch, Muir; Ellis Ranney of Greenville and Charles Kling of Palo.
