Smith in this city and surrounding country were shocked to learn of his death which occurred Sunday at the home of his parents in Hart. Fred had been living in Jackson for about two years, several weeks ago he was stricken with typhoid fever and when able was taken to his parents home, paralysis is said to be the cause of his immediate taking off. For several years he clerked for Holmes Bros. in this city and was also city clerk two terms. He was popular and a young man of excellent character. He married Miss Nina Miller who …..illiegible….him. He was an honored member of Fortuna Lodge K. of P. of this city. His death has brought sadness to many hearts.
