Billie Marie Miller Smith, age 61, of Ionia, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, 
August 13, 2006 at Metropolitan Hospital in Grand Rapids.  She was born 
September 10, 1944 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the daughter of Ted and Jean 
Miller. Billie married Danny V. Smith April 27, 1963.  Her passion in life was 
her family and caring for her many children, who all held a special place in 
her heart. She lived life to the fullest, and was a true friend to many.

Billie is survived by her loving husband of 43 years Danny V. Smith; children, 
Bobbie (Joe) Ogden of Ionia, Kathy (Nick) Ogden of Fenwick, Dennis (Lisa) 
Smith of Ionia, Corie (Lavon) Smith of Ionia, Sam Smith of Ionia; sisters, 
Donna Bennett of Ionia, Lorna (Mike) Melle of Ionia; brother, Bob (Carol) of 
Ionia; father in law, Lawrence Northrup of Ionia; grandchildren, Danny, Denna, 
Brittany, Nicole, Garrett V, Taylor, Rocky and June, Lance and Emily, Garrett 
R. and her dear precious Shelby; great grandchildren, Zander and Vayda, many 
nieces, nephews, and very close friends.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother Ted and June Miller. Her 
son Danny V. Smith; daughter, Michelle Lynn Smith; mother in law, Ilene 
Northrup; sister, Kathleen and niece Robin Miller.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at Lake 
Funeral Home in Ionia. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday 6-
8 p.m. at the funeral home. Anyone wishing may make memorial contributions to 
the family. Envelopes available at the funeral home.
