Emaline Amanda Smith, age 93, of Belding, Mich. died on Wednesday, July 4, 
2007 at Heartland Health & Rehabilitation in Ionia.  She was born August 4, 
1913 in Ellsworth, New Hampshire the daughter of the late Albert & Olive 
(Heth) Conkey Sr. She married Gerald Dexter Smith, who preceded her in death 
several years ago. Emaline was a homemaker and loved working in her garden and 
playing with her granddaughters and great granddaughters.

Emaline is survived by 2 daughters & a son-in-law, Judie (Danny Ray) Fick and 
Wanita Smith both of Belding; 2 granddaughters, Holly Zeller of Belding and 
Cheryl Batchelder of Greenville; 3 great granddaughters, Nicole, Kelly and 
Allie Zeller all of Belding. She is also survived by numerous nieces & 
nephews. Jolene was preceded in death by parents, Albert & Olive Conkey and 
her husband, Gerald Dexter Smith, 1 brother and several sisters.

Per Emaline's wishes there will no services held, a private internment has 
taken place. The family requests that those wishing make a contribution in 
Emaline's name to the Ionia County Commission on Aging, 115 Hudson St, Ionia, 
MI 48846. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Brigham Funeral 
Chapel, Belding, Mich.
