The Ionia Weekly Standard, Thursday, June 21, 1906


Mrs. Mary J. Smith, mother of I. J. Smith, died Saturday at the family home, 
527 Union street.  Funeral at 9 a.m. Monday, from the residence, interment in 
Highland Park cemetery.  Mrs. Smith was 71 years of age and had been in poor 
health for the past seven years.

Mrs. Mary J. Smith died at the home of her son, I. J. Smith, 527 Union street, 
at 12:45 Saturday.  Funeral on Monday at 9 a.m. from the residence.  Interment 
in Highland Park.

Another Publication:  The Ionia Weekly Standard, Date Unknown

The funeral of Mrs. Smith, mother of I. J. Smith, took place Monday at 9 
o’clock at the residence of her son, 527 Union street.  Rev. W. K. Spencer 
conducted the services.  Mrs. Smith came to Michigan from New York 30 years 
ago and has lived here since coming to Ionia three years ago with her son.  A 
daughter, Mrs. Harper, of Fennville, was here for the funeral.
