John W. Smith Jr., our beloved Jay, has gone to be with our Lord in heaven. He 
passed away, Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2011. He will be greatly missed. Jay was a 
graduate of Saranac High School and a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church 
in Saranac. He worded at Amway for many years, until retiring in 2001.

Jay is survived by his wife Zeta, who was by his side at time of death, as were 
his children, Heidi (Don) Darby of Lowell and Oleta (Dennis) Milewski of 
Greenville; grandchildren Spencer Hotchkiss, Sierra Hotchkiss, Alyssa Darby, 
Faith Milewski, Levi Milewski, Beemnet Milewski, Joseph Milewski and Shalamar 
Milewski; many brothers, sisters, brothers and sisters–in-law, cousins, nephews 
and nieces.

We love you so much, you were the best husband, father and grandfather. Thank 
you Jay for 46 wonderful years.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony’s 
Catholic Church with Father Victor Kynam celebrant. Interment Saranac Cemetery. 
Visitation will be held 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lake Funeral 
Home in Saranac. Rosary 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Anyone wishing may make a memorial contribution in Jay’s name to American Lung 
Association. Online condolences may be made at www.lakefuneralhomes.com.
