Jennie, as she was called, was the adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Ladow. She was taken sick with scarlet fever while attending school at the Holcomb school house, but recovered from this attack and was able to be around the house, when she had a relapse which proved fatal. The funeral took place Sunday forenoon at 11 o’clock from the Holcomb school house, Rev. D. A. Jewell officiating. Mr. and Mrs. Ladow adopted the child about six years ago, since then their house has been her home and she knew no other parents or friends. She has, however, a father and three young brother living, but their whereabouts are not known. If other papers will copy the substance of this article it may lead to giving her family a knowledge of her death. The family once lived in this city.
