Ionia Sentinel Standard, 12 Sep 1991

Edna L. Snell, 56, originally of Ionia, died Sunday in Kentwood.  She attended 
Ionia High School, and had been employed by Mitchell-Bentley.  She was active 
in the Girl Scouts, and was an avid knitter.  She married Edmund Snell in 1952.

She is survived by two sons; Ed Snell, Jr. of Byron Center and Robert Snell of 
Kentwood; her daughter Cindy Clements of Grand Rapids; her mother Susie Hanline 
of Ionia; one sister Joyce Massengale of Ionia; four brothers, Ken Selleck of 
Wyoming, Charles Snell of Portland, Harold Harper of Ionia, and John VerPorter 
of Battle Creek; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Stroo Funeral Home – 
Cutlerville Chapel, 1095 68th Street SE, Kentwood, with the Rev. Michael 
Valentine officiating.  Burial will be in Kent Memorial Gardens.  Memorials 
have been established for the Hospice of Grand Rapids and the Home of Hope, and 
for the Ionia First Christian Church, in care of the funeral home.
