Short services will be conducted there Monday and graveside services will be held in Ionia at Highland Park cemetery at 3 o’clock Monday afternoon. He was born in Ionia January 9, 1891, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Watson C. Snell. He was in the theater business here for a number of years during which he built the Regent theater located where Frank’s store now is, and also conducted the Family and Mystic theaters. He was a linotype operator and was employed by the Ionia Sentinel for a time leaving there to become manager of the Regent and Mystic theaters about 40 years ago. He left Ionia and moved to Petoskey about 30 years ago where he had since resided and where he was employed for a number of years as a linotype operator by the Petoskey Evening News. Surviving him are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Richard LaPeer, and a granddaughter, Janet, all of Petoskey. Subsequent Publication: Monday, November 30, 1953 The body of Clifford B. Snell, former Ionian, was brought to Ionia Monday for graveside services in Highland Park cemetery at 3 o’clock following services at 9 a.m. in Petoskey where he died Saturday in Little Traverse Hospital. The services here were conducted by the Rev. Fr. Roger Bunday, rector of St. Johns Episcopal church. Mr. Snell had been a resident of Petoskey since 1925 when he left Ionia where he was operating two motion picture theaters. He was a member of the Elks lodge in Petoskey and of the Ionia Masonic lodge, and of the Petoskey Episcopalian church.
