Snell, 60, died at his home, 606 West Lincoln avenue, Monday evening about 10:40. He has been suffering from a heart ailment for two weeks. He was born in Easton township May 25, 1886, the son of George and Katherine Snell, and lived in Easton until his marriage to Minnie B. Hoskin on October 20, 1908, and has lived in Ionia City since then. Mr. Snell worked at the Hayes Ionia plant for many years, operated a grocery store, worked for the Quality store, and for Clare Butler for the past eight years and has been employed at the Ionia State hospital as an attendant nurse. He was a member of the Methodist church. Surviving him are his wife; a son, Richard Snell, and a grandson, John Richard;; three sisters, Mrs. Claude Heald of Pomona, California, Miss Cora I. Snell of Washing, D.C. and Mrs. Edwin S. Yeomans, Sr. of Ionia; and a brother, Eugene, of Ionia. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m .from the Boynton funeral home with the Rev. Dwight Kitch officiating. Interment will be at the family lot at Saranac cemetery.
