Ralph Snyder Jr. of Inverness, Fla., formerly of Angola, Ind. and Ionia County, passed away at his home surrounded by family and friends, under the care of Citrus County Hospice on Wed., May 19, 2004, following a short fight with cancer. Ralph was born on June 6, 1936, in Hubbardston, to the late Wavel Ralph Snyder Sr. and Lucille Elizabeth Graham Snyder. A retired long-haul truck driver, Ralph saw the world through the windows of his rig. He was a man of great character and courage who had great respect for his work and his faith. He was an active member of Bethel Baptist Church in Hernando, Fla. He spent his last days sharing time and memories with family and friends from across the U.S. We consider ourselves blessed to have been a part of his life, and his passing into the next. He is survived by his wife Roslee Marie Clark Snyder; five children and two step-children, Christopher Ralph, and wife Karen of Belding; Joseph Andrew, and wife Viki, of Inverness; Bonnie Ann Funk and Wendy Nita Lucille Smith, both of Montpelier, Ohio; Joshua Ray of Belding, and their mother Sandy Rae Snyder also of Belding; as well as Stacy Lynn Applegate and Kevin Dwayne Applegate, both of Fremont, Ind., and 16 grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Carl of Portland, Tom and John both of Ionia and Bill of Middleton, as well as Jack Darling of Ovid; and sisters Mrs. Edna Faylor of Fowler; Betty Rowley of Ionia; and Delores Brunk of Carson City. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Chuck and Alan and an infant sister Carol Ann Snyder. A memorial service was held Sat., May 22, at Bethel Baptist Church in Hernando, Fla. Another memorial service will be held locally at Easton United Methodist Church at the corner of Potters and Johnson roads at 10 a.m. on Sat., May 29. A luncheon will follow.
