A careful examination revealed that both legs were broken, the left one so badly that it was adjudged best to take him to the U.B.A. hospital at Grand Rapids for the surgical operation necessary, whence he was taken last evening accompanied by Dr. Ogden. The bones of left limb were so split that ends protruded through the flesh, and a large incision was necessary. The patient did not recover from the shock of the operation, and died at ten o’clock Wed. morning. He leaves a wife and three daughters, Mrs. Sherwood and Misses Myrtle and Mamie, the home being on North Dexter street.
