The Ionia Daily Standard, Monday, August 26, 1901

William Snyder, living on Hackett street, died on Sunday evening, following a 
nervous shock.  He was aged 75 years.  Deceased was a long time resident of 
Ionia county, and in the early history of the settlement, kept Snyder’s 
tavern, at the Hackett Corners, on Bellevue road, two miles south of 
Tremayne’s Corners.  The funeral will be on Wednesday, with services at the 
Presbyterian church; sermon by Rev. D. A. Jewell.  Interment in Balcom 
cemetery.
