The Ionia County News, Tuesday, September 10, 1927

George Snyder, 70 years old, for many years a proprietor of a butcher shop in 
Portland and who has been living in retirement the last few years on a farm in 
Danby township two miles south of Portland, died Monday.  Heart disease was 
the cause.

He is survived by his wife and a son, Roy Snyder.  Funeral services will be 
held at the home at 2 o’clock Wednesday.  Burial will be in Portland cemetery.
