Ionia Sentinel Standard, 23 Aug 1972

Wavel R. Snyder, 67, of 5716 South State Road, died Thursday afternoon at Ionia
County Memorial hospital.  Born June 5, 1905 in Wabash county, Ind., he was the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Snyder.  His father died four days ago in St. Johns.
 He was a farmer in Clinton and Ionia counties most of his life and a former
member of Masonic Lodge F&AM.  He was married November 7, 1932, in Clinton
county to Lucille Graham.

Surviving besides the wife, Lucille are seven sons, Charles of Palatine, Ill.,
Ralph and John of Lyons, Carl and Thomas of Portland, Alan with the marines in
North Carolina and William with the navy at Norfolk, Va.; foster son, Jack
Darling of Durand.  Also surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edna Falor of
Fowler, Mrs. Betty Rowley of Ionia and Mrs. Delores Brunk of Carson City; 23
grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

He also leaves seven brothers, Kenneth of St. Johns, Peter of Winter Haven,
Fla., Robert of Owosso, Ted, Bud, Floyd and Donald of rural St. Johns; two
sisters, Mrs. Thelma Berlin of Ypsilanti and Mrs. Pauline Smith of Winter Haven,
Fla.  A daughter, Carol Ann Snyder, died in 1946.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Myers-Roetman funeral home. 
Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Family will be at the funeral
home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7
to 9 p.m.  A memorial has been established for the respiratory clinic fund of
Ionia County Memorial hospital.
