          OBITUARY

   Joseph Snyder was born in Wabash county, Indiana, January 8, 1855; and passed
away at Baarryton, August 
2, 1916, aged 61 years, 6 months and 25 days.

   On October 12, 1879, he was married to Sophia Sweitzer in Sebewa township, Ionia
county, Michigan. To this 
union seven children were born, four sons and three daughters, all of whom are
living as follows; Elpha E. 
Case, Flint; Laura E. Goff, Reed City; W. E. Snyder, Ludington; George E. Snyder,
Grand Rapids; Cora E. 
Dickens, Grand Rapids; Ora E. Snyder Harrietta; Ardis Snyder, Barryton. There are
also nine grandchildren. In 
addition to these children he leaves a widow and one sister Mrs. L. L. Farrell,
Woodland, along with a host of 
fiends to mourn his loss.

   Brother Snyder was converted 36 years ago at the Old Myers church and became a
member of the United 
Brethren church. He removed to Barryton 23 years ago and has been a member of the M.
E. church for the 
last 15 years. He crossed into the Great Beyond, but his works do follow him.
Blessed are the dead who die in 
the Lord.



Call not back the dear departed,

Anchored safe where storms are o'er;

On the border land we left him,

Soon to meet and part no more.



When we leave this world of changes,

When we leave this world of care,

We shall find our missing loved one,

In our Father's mansion fair.

   We wish hereby to express our sincere thanks to all the old neighbors and friends
and others who so kindly 
gave us assistance and showed us a kindness in any way at the time of the burial of
our beloved husband and 
father; and especially to the singers for their beautiful songs do we feel truly
thankful.
