Ionia Sentinel - Standard
Edward J. Sonday, 69, of 444 Lookingglass avenue, Portland, died Sunday at St 
Lawrence hospital in Lansing.  He was born in Portland township March 18, 1902.  
He was a retired employee of Portland TRW and also member of Portland St Patrick 
Catholic church.  He was married 45 years to his wife, Anna, survives as do four 
sons, Robert, Leon, Gerald and James of Portland; daughter, Mrs. Rita Mason of 
Clarksville; 29 grandchildren and four great grandchildren; brother, Norman of 
Nashville.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 am at St Patrick church in Portland.  Fr 
Joseph Malewitz will officiate and interment will be at Portland cemetery.  
Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 8:30 pm at Neller funeral home in Portland.  
Bearers will be Kenneth, William and Richard Sonday, Edward, Joseph and John 
Mason.
