He was a brakeman on the Canada Southern railroad, and formerly was employed on the D.L.&N. road. His death resulted from an attack of typhoid fever. His remains were brought to Ionia for interment on Saturday. Another Publication: The Ionia Sentinel, Friday, October 4, 1878 Alfred H. Soule, a son of Oscar H. Soule of this city, died at Amherstburgh, Canada, on Sept. 27th, at the age of 23 years. He went to Canada a year ago last January, and had been a yardman in the employ of the Canada South R.R. at that point. His disease was typhoid fever. His parents were with him during his illness and brought the remains home on Saturday. The funeral took place from the family residence on Monday.
