March 15, 1923 MRS. WILLIAM F. SOULE Funeral services for the late Mrs. William F. Soule, whose sudden death Monday morning came as a shock to the entire city, was held this morning form the church of SS. Peter and Paul, the edifice being filled to overflowing by the sympathizing friends and neighbors who came to pay their last respects to a woman who has been for years a leader in the religious work of the church, as well as in the social life of the city. Services assisted by Rev. Fr. A. C. Schneider of Fowler, and Rev. Fr. Joseph Maier, of Belding. The remains for the time being have been placed in the receiving vault at Mt. Olivet cemetery and burial will be made in the spring-time. The death of Mrs. Soule, which was caused by apoplexy, came practically without warning, as she had been about her household duties a portion of the morning and but the night before had been hostess to a company of relatives at a dinner at the family home on West Main street. With her at the time of her death was her niece, Mrs. Ted Quinn, of Detroit, who summoned both Mr. Soule and the family physician, but death had entered the home before either arrived. The deceases was born at Muir, May 27, 1856, and was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Burke, who were prominent residents in that village in early day. In 1886 she was united in marriage to Mr. Soule and since that time they have made this city their abiding place. She was active in church affairs, being a member of the West End Guild. Hers was a sympathetic nature and there are many who will remember her for her kindly deeds and ministrations. She leaves beside her husband, two sisters, Mrs. Richard O'Neil and Miss Anna Burke, of Grand Rapids, and two brothers, Edward Burke, of this city and William Burke, of Missouri.
