Ida Sowels was born July 9, 1865, in Roxand Township, Eaton County, Michigan.  

In the year 1883 she was united in marriage to Silas E. Dunham of Roxand.  To 
this union five children were born: Lyle E. of Groose Pine Creek, Alberta, 
Canada; Verna C. of Sunfield; Zelda A. of Three Hills, Alberta, Canada; Eldon 
Lee of Lake Odessa, and George N., who passed away in infancy.  Mr. Dunham 
passed away December 5, 1920 at Lake Odessa

February 1922 she was united in marriage to Marcus Chapman of Lake Odessa and 
resided here until September 1931, when they moved to Berlin Center, where she 
passed away December 11, 1931.

She leaves to mourn their loss her husband, the four children mentioned above, 
several grandchildren, a brother Bert Sowels of Lake Odessa, a twin sister 
Mrs. Sam Langtry of Sunfield, and two other sisters a Mrs. Ingall and Mrs. 
Reed of Portland.
