HARRY SOWLES CALLED BY DEATH
Passed Away at Lansing Wednesday Night Following Illness From Pneumonia

The many friends of Harry Sowles were greatly shocked this morning when they 
were told of his death which occurred at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing at 9:40 
o’clock last evening following an eighteen days illness from pneumonia.

Mr. Sowles was born in Portland 38 years ago last June and had spent his 
entire lifetime in this community.  Three months ago he went to Lansing to 
accept a position as decorator with the J. W. Bailey Co.  On December 16 he 
was taken ill with pneumonia and taken to the hospital.  Other complications 
of a contagious nature set in causing his death which came peacefully with his 
wife and mother beside him.

The remains were brought to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin 
Sowles, where a private funeral will be held.
