The Portland Observer, Tuesday, September 30, 1919
Byron Sowles, born in Portland Oct. 13, 1850, died at the home of his 
daughter, Mrs. John Campbell, in Sunfield Sunday afternoon.  He went to the 
daughter’s Wednesday, having then been ailing for several days.  Funeral 
services will be held at the M. E. church in Portland Wednesday at 2:00.

Mr. Sowles is survived by four children—Philo and Otto, twins; Mrs. John 
Campbell and Herman Sowles.  Mrs. A. E. Dravenstatt, of Eagle, is a sister.
