Sept. 10, 2008 CARSON CITY- Louis "Bud" Spaniolo, 80, passed away unexpectedly at Carson city Hospital on Monday, Sept. 8, 2008. He was born July 17, 1928, in Carson City, to Loui and Lutie Bird (Temple) Spaniolo. He married Alice Demenov on May 20, 1953, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carson City. Bud served his country. Bud served his country during the Korean War. He owned and operated the Spaniolo Food Market in Carson City along with his father and brother. He also built and operated the first car wash in Carson City. Bud was an area volunteer fireman for more than 60 years and also farmed. After the family store was sold, he cut meat at O'Grady's Grocery Store in Hubbardston until he retired. He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the Detroit Tigers and Lions. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Alice; seven children; Gail and Mark Ravell of Fenwick, Jean Cullimore of Grand Ledge, Jill Spaniolo of Ann Arbor, John Spaniolo of Kentwood, Tom and Jean Spaniolo of Cedar Springs and Michael Havens of Carson City, Christopher Spaniolo of Cleveland, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Renae and David Simpson, Amanda Ravell, Hilary Ravell, Spencer Ravell, Nathan and Tesa Barker, Zachary Cullimore, Andrea and Enrique Caperon, Joshua Plude and Cecilia Havens; and two great grandchildren, Alyssa Barker and Julia Caperon. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother William "Bill" Spaniolo and sister, Helen Ostlund. funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church at Carson City. Interment will be at Mary Knoll Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lux and Schnepp Funeral Home, Carson City, with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will also be 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
