Pauline was born on Sept. 15, 1925 in rural Belding, the daughter of Benjamin J. and Anna Kessler Shindorf. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and of the Altar Society. Pauline had retired from Lacks Industries in Cascade after 21 years of service in 1977. She was married on Nov. 27, 1943 to Alden Sparks and he preceded Pauline on Dec. 28, 1987. She was also preceded by her parents and her brother William. Pauline is survived by her children, Gayla Haines of Belding, Linda (Basil) Smith II of Wyoming, Robert (Irma) Sparks of Carlsbad, N.M. and Clarence Sparks of Belding. She is also survived by several grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; her sisters and their spouses, Marcella and Roy Sower, Rosemary and Ernest VanOcker of Belding and Theresa and William TenEyck of Grand Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, Miriam with Father Fred Brucker presiding. Interment will follow in St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 8 p.m. at Johnson-Feuerstein Funeral Home, Belding. Memorials may be given to St. Mary Church.
