Sparks, aged 71, of 201 S. Broas St., died suddenly at his home Monday afternoon. He was born in Belding, April 14, 1892 and had lived in Belding all of his life. He owned and operated the Spark’s Restaurant for 38 years until his retirement 13 years ago. Since his retirement he was an Apiarist and belonged to the Ionia County Bee Keepers Association. He also belonged to the First Congregational church, the Belding Sportsman Club and a life member of Belding Lodge 355 F & AM, Consistory and the Saladin Shrine. On August 1, 1927 he was married to the former Naomi Elkins and she survives along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Thursday (today) at 2 p.m. at the Huffman Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas W. Rebentisch officiating. Burial will be in River Ridge cemetery with graveside services under the auspices of Belding Lodge 355 F & AM.
